Study suggests teens need more sleep to avoid Virginia Beach auto accidents

A new health study suggests that teens who start classes at 7:20 a.m. are putting themselves at greater risk for Virginia Beach auto accidents, according to BusinessWeek.com.

Teens need at least nine hours of sleep.

Virginia Beach teens statistically have more Virginia Beach auto accidents than teens in a neighboring city where high school students start school later.

10 die in Virginia auto accidents over holiday weekend

According to the Richmond-Times Dispatch, 10 men and women died in 10 accidents across Virginia over the Memorial Day weekend, compared to seven last year.

Of the 10 people killed in Virginia auto accidents, three were motorcyclists and one was a pedestrian. Some of them occurred in Virginia Beach, among other places in Virginia.

Man dead after Virginia Beach accident

A Virginia Beach man is dead after law enforcement officials say he had been drinking and not wearing a seatbelt, according to WAVY.com.

The 20-year-old Virginia Beach man was driving a Ford Focus. He veered off the highway, hit a light pole and overturn several times.
