Well-known police officer killed in Virginia auto accident

An off-duty Rocky Mount police officer was killed in a Virginia auto accident early Saturday morning, as reported by the Roanoke Times.

The fatal Virginia auto accident involved two cars in the southbound lanes of U.S. 220 and shut down all three lanes for almost 7 hours.

The Virginia auto accident victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver was taken to Carlion Roanoke Memorial Hospital with unknown conditions.

The police officer killed in the Virginia car accident was well known in the community for his strong involvement with the Rocky Mountain police department.

A 50-year-old motorcyclist was killed as a result of a Virginia auto accident on Friday morning, as published by Tri Cities.

The Virginia motorcycle accident victim was riding his Harley Davidson south on Johns B. Dennis Highway when he collided head-on with a car driven by an 84-year-old woman.

Deal reached in Virginia wrongful death settlement

A settlement was made in a $15 million Virginia wrongful death lawsuit, reported Richmond Times-Dispatch.

A 28-year-old man died of the Virginia wrongful death while Amherst County police were trying to take him into custody in June 2005.

Police stated they held the Virginia wrongful death victim to the ground while trying to put handcuffs on him.

Reports had been made that the police used a ladder and racks while trying to restrain the Virginia wrongful death victim and suffocated him.

The terms of the $15 million Virginia wrongful death settlement were not disclosed.
